OUR MISSION:

Connecting You to Jesus and Each Other

When we read the New Testament, we notice great emphasis was placed by the church upon being connected to Christ and to others. In writing to the Galatian churches, Paul said “For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s offspring, heirs according to promise”

(Galatians 3:27-29 ESV).

“Baptized into Christ”… “put on Christ”… “are Christ’s”… it’s easy to see the focus upon being connected to Jesus Christ! In this same passage that speaks of connection to Christ, we also see an emphasis on being connected to others: “you are all one in Christ Jesus”.

“One” – the idea implies these brethren shared togetherness and unity with one another!

As a church, our mission today is simply to connect people to Jesus and to each other. We want to lead people to Jesus Christ to a vibrant, growing faith through the message of the gospel.  At the same time, we want to facilitate people’s integration into our church family – a family which loves and supports one another while using our talents and gifts to further God’s kingdom.

“Connecting You To Jesus And To Each Other”… it’s our mission and we pray that you’ll learn more by exploring our website!

SEEK

A faithful Christian is a growing Christian! In the New Testament, the Christian life is referred to as a “race” (Hebrews 12:1, 2 Timothy 4:7.) and a person’s spiritual journey begins when one’s faith leads him/her to be baptized into Christ. However, that’s just a beginning point! God wants us to be people who grow and mature in our faith (2 Peter 3:18). We can grow our faith through consistent bible study and prayer as well as attending worship with other Christians.

SUPPORT

A faithful Christian is an active Christian! The church is “family” – three times in the New Testament it’s called “the household of God”. In our physical families, members have their own special “place”. In a family we receive love and support from others, but it isn’t all about receiving – it’s about giving also. When able, each member of a family contributes to the welfare of the family by shouldering his/her share of the responsibilities. Spiritually, the same is true. We both foster and grow these “family relationships” through our participation in small group settings such as Connect Groups, bible class, and activities of subgroups (i.e. college, youth, etc.) within the congregation.

SERVE

A faithful Christian is a serving Christian! When Jesus came to this earth, He served other people. Once, when speaking about “greatness” in the church, Jesus said “Whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be your slave, even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Matthew 20:26-28 ESV). God has given each one of us talents and abilities and he hopes we will use those things for His glory! We serve when we volunteer to assist in different ministry opportunities, whether that’s with a group of fellow Christians (i.e. service project) or personally helping others around us in our daily lives.
